The exit charter

What you own, what you rent, and how you leave

v1.2, published 2026-07-01 · part of every client agreement with Dine Design

This is the public template. Each client's copy is prepared with their business's name and carries these same terms.

We sell against platforms that lock local businesses in. So the fairest thing we can do is write down, before you sign anything, exactly how you would leave us. This page is part of your contract, not a brochure.

You own these from day one. Not at exit. From day one.

  • Your domain. Registered with you as the named registrant. We manage it on your behalf; we never hold it. A domain held by an agency is a hostage, and we do not take hostages.
  • Your Google Business Profile. You are the Primary Owner. We work inside it as a manager you have authorised, and that is all we are.
  • Every customer record. Every customer, booking, order and sale record your business generates is yours, always. We run the systems; the data is your property.
  • Your content and your brand. Your photos, your content, your words, your name. We use them to do the work; they remain yours.

You rent these while you subscribe

The engines: the booking system that takes your bookings, the platform your website runs on (hosting, updates, care), and the ordering and reporting machinery behind it. Think of them as the engine room we run your service from. While you subscribe, they run for you. If you leave, they stop, like ending any subscription. The difference is that you walk out with everything in the section above, which the platforms you are replacing do not meaningfully give you.

If you ever leave

  • Your first 90 days are money-back. If by 90 days you cannot see it working in pounds, tell us: we refund every fee you have paid, you owe nothing, and you keep your domain, your Google profile and all your data. We carry the risk of proving this, not you. The website itself is our engine; if you want to run it on yourself, you take the standalone copy below.
  • Notice is the whole exit. 30days' written notice, any month. There is no minimum term, no exit fee, no buyout and no penalty of any kind beyond serving out your notice. Because we build your site for free and there is no clawback, the free build is simply yours to keep.
  • All your data, within 30 days, free. Every customer, booking and order record as standard CSV files you can open in a spreadsheet or hand to any other provider. Returning your data is also our legal duty as your data processor under UK GDPR; we put it in writing anyway so you never have to argue the point.
  • Your domain and Google profile go with you, because they were never ours. We remove our own access, hand over any logins we administered for you, and leave you a written record of your settings.
  • Your customers are never caught in the middle. Every booking already in your diary is honoured through your notice period, whatever the reason for parting. We will never stand up your guests.
  • Optional: take your website with you. A standalone copy of your site, yours to host anywhere, for a fixed fee, ex VAT, agreed in your contract on day one and never negotiated at exit.

Our promises, one line each

  1. Leave any month with 30days' notice. There is no minimum term.
  2. No exit fee, and no build fee to claw back. The free build is yours to keep.
  3. Your first 90 days are money-back: if you cannot see it working in pounds, you get every fee back and keep your domain, your Google profile and all your data.
  4. Your domain is registered in your name from day one.
  5. You are Primary Owner of your Google Business Profile from day one.
  6. Every customer, booking and order record is yours, exported as CSV within 30 days of leaving, at no charge.
  7. Bookings on your books are honoured to the last day. Your customers are never our leverage.
  8. A standalone copy of your website is available at a fixed price set on day one, not at exit.
  9. We keep our engines. You keep everything that is yours.

This charter is incorporated into your agreement as a named schedule.

We keep our terms clear, fair and readable, and we publish them in full: this charter and how we use AI.

If these terms read fair, the next step is a free profit-leak report: we read what is already public about your business and show you where your profit is leaking and which fix seals it first. Nothing to send us, and never a contract.
